StudentScreen uses the least intrusive method of testing and has therefore adopted the most recent state-of-the-art techniques.

Drug Screen

The StudentScreen drug test covers commonly abused prescription medications and illicit drugs. The classes represent many drugs; they are not simply "one drug". For example, the class Opiates includes: morphine, heroin and codeine.

"...students taking prescription medications
are not unfairly penalized..."

Commonly abused
prescription drug classes:
Illicit drug classes
Barbiturates THC (Marijuana)
Propoxyphene Opiates
Benzodiazepines Cocaine
Methadone PCP
Methaqualone Amphetamines

Immedicenter's Medical Review Officers (MRO), drug and alcohol screening experts, will review the findings of these tests to determine if there is a medical reason for any positive outcome. This is to ensure that students taking prescription medications are not unfairly penalized for the legal use of medication. Positive tests always confirmed using the most accurate test available, Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry. Often, the MRO will order additional testing to aid in pinpointing the exact substance for which a screen may be positive.

Ecstasy Screen

"…only Immedicenter uses the actual Ecstasy test…"

StudentScreen also includes the designer drug Ecstasy (X, XTC, E); only Immedicenter uses the actual Ecstasy test, not simply a test that has cross-reactivity like other medical providers! Tests typically used to evaluate students for Ecstasy-use are only about fifty-percent accurate! Immedicenter understands that you demand the very best testing available.

Breath Alcohol Screen

"Don't settle for saliva tests or any other analogous testing method!"

This non-invasive test is the most precise analysis available; the result is an exact reflection of one's blood alcohol level. Don't settle for saliva tests or any other analogous testing method!

All positive tests are confirmed by another test performed twenty-minutes after the initial test to completely eliminate the possibility of what we call Residual Mouth Alcohol, alcohol left in one's mouth following use of mouthwash or any other sources of alcohol ingested or taken orally.

The Evidential Breath Tester (EBT), the instrument used to detect alcohol-use, is calibrated regularly and is used on truck and bus drivers to guarantee public safety. Law enforcement personnel also use an EBT to determine if a driver is intoxicated while operating any motor vehicle.

Physical Examination by a Physician

While scientific testing is extremely vital to determining drug and alcohol use, it is used to supplement the expert opinion of a physician. New Jersey State Law requires physicians to examine students suspected of being under the influence of drug and/or alcohol.

Other Drugs

StudentScreen may also include testing for other illicit drugs, such as Ketamine!
